Thorough preparation of orchestral extracts is essential for a successful EUYO audition - but don't just think this simply means learning the notes! You should listen to recordings of the pieces where possible and/or take a look at the full score so that you are aware of the context of your extract and can play accordingly. The orchestral extracts to be prepared for the current EUYO auditions are below - click on each extract to download a copy.
For each instrument, a few extracts from Mahler Symphony No.5 will shortly be added to the website to reflect the summer 2015 repertoire. All candidates should prepare these excerpts for both first and second round auditions.
If you have any questions please email Christina Hemmer, EUYO Interim Projects & Orchestra Manager.
